Shamanic Reiki Healing
Reiki combined with shamanic journeying, where I journey on your behalf while you rest and receive — in Oslo or online.
Dreaming together
In a general sense, I describe Reiki as a practice of deep rest, and shamanic journeying as a practice of creative imaginal exploration. The former usually “settles” the mind and body, while the latter often “invigorates”. Together, they balance each other out and meet in the middle. In this practice, I send or share Reiki with you with my hands and heart, while my “mind’s eye” goes on a visual journey full of vivid landscapes, characters and events.
Like any other Reiki session, your only invitation as the recipient is to focus on your own needs and comfort, while I hold the time and space container. In person, I will invite you to lay down with lots of soft cushions and blankets, and offer to start the session by placing one hand lightly on your shoulder for a few minutes. Other than this, there is no physical touch or bodywork aspect. You can of course also join online, from a space that feels most comfortable and supportive for you.
I speak aloud as the journey unfolds, describing the places, people, movements and changes that I encounter. Many people are surprised afterwards by how much the experience feels like a very vivid dream that someone was describing to them as it happened. It is quite common to fall asleep and wake up feeling deeply refreshed and rested, but remember only fragments of what was shared. Sometimes people ask me to record the journey so they can listen to it again afterwards, and I am always happy to do so.
Following what arises
Before we begin, I’ll invite you to choose a real place on Earth for me to journey from — somewhere that is meaningful to you, or that is relevant to any particular questions or intentions you are bringing to the session. If we are meeting online, the starting location is usually where you physically are right now. You can also request for multiple places to be woven into the journey, although there will only be one starting point.
How it works is super simple: I draw the Reiki “distance connection symbol” in my mind’s eye while visualising underground root systems connecting where I am right now, to where you are, and then to the starting location. I follow the first image that appears, with the perspective of a curious explorer - noticing what I see, following whatever comes into view with no predetermined agenda, and sharing what I notice out loud.
My journeys often involve movement across large geographical distances or spans of time, ancestors and descendants, rise and fall of civilisations, taking the perspectives of animals and plants, as well as sometimes quite detailed accounts of challenging circumstances and the resolution of those challenges. I never have any idea what will appear in advance, and it is a true surprise each time.
I do not try to interpret anything I see while journeying, and do not assume any of it to represent specific people or situations in your own life story. Those are things that only you have the authority to decide for yourself. I always leave 10-15 minutes (sometimes longer) after the journey in case you want my help in making sense of what the images might mean.
This might be for you if…
You resonate with imagery, dreams, stories, symbolism or other non-linear ways of sense-making and processing;
You're curious about combining the deep rest of Reiki with something more imaginal and exploratory;
You are interested in receiving shamanic work and want to approach it in a restful and grounding way;
You find it easier to settle into embodied presence and relaxation when someone else is guiding the experience verbally;
Physical touch isn't something you naturally find comforting, but a soft and gentle voice might be;
There is a particular place or places that matters to you, and you’re curious what might appear when I connect with them in this unusual way;
You'd like to bring a specific question, topic or intention into the session without needing to actively “work on it” or “do something” with it;
You intend to join online, and are curious about a practice methodology that specifically developed out of holding hundreds of “online / distance Reiki” sessions.

Arriving
A check-in about what brings you here, any intentions you are carrying. Explaining practicalities of what to expect, clarifying any boundaries around touch if needed, and choosing one or more places to journey from or through.
Reiki-infused journeying
During most of the journey, my eyes are closed, and I share what I see out loud, softly and gently in a “guided meditation” voice.
If in person, I’ll invite you to lay down, with lots of soft cushions, pillows, and blankets at your disposal in support of your comfort. I will sit beside you and optionally place a hand on your shoulder in the beginning part of the journey.
If online, you can take any position that supports your comfort, and choose whether you want to keep your camera on or off. My camera stays on the whole time, and you’ll see me holding my hands out towards the screen (to send Reiki).
Returning
Time to transition out of the experience and talk about any images, sensations, or mental associations that appeared if desired. I can’t tell you what something I saw means, or what and who in your life it may or may not represent — but I can ask questions or offer more general perspectives to support your own sense-making and integration process.
Want a session longer than 60 mins, or to combine Journeying + Reiki with another practice? See Extended & Combined Sessions. For ongoing work on a weekly or biweekly basis, reduced rates can also be agreed upon in advance.
Questions you may have
-
Both sessions combine Reiki with another practice, but the experience is quite different. Reiki + Sound is centred more on deep rest and somatic work, with Tibetan singing bowls and hands-on Reiki. This is offered only in-person.
In Shamanic Reiki, I undertake a shamanic journey while you receive Reiki. There is minimal physical touch, the session can be experienced entirely online, and my voice is what guides you into a relaxed state rather than my hands. The focus here is more on the creative and imaginal, than on the somatic layer.
-
You don't need to know how to journey, meditate, visualise or do anything special. While I journey, all I invite you to do is focus on your own comfort and rest. It is perfectly ok for you to drift in and out of sleep, and not catch most of or even anything I say.
-
During the journey, I simply describe what I perceive. I don't decide what an image means or assume that a person, place or event in the journey represents something specific in your life. Afterward, we can talk about any associations or meanings that arise for you, and I can ask questions or offer broader perspectives to support your own sense-making.
-
A question or intention is completely optional. You can bring something specific that you'd like to explore, or simply come with an open-ended curiosity about the experience. The physical starting place for the journey is also optional, although highly recommended (especially if you meet me in my small and cosy home office in Oslo).
If you would like a suggested intention, it could be something about exploring what wisdom and perspectives a specific place, or the place you currently live in, might have to share with you right now.
-
If you’re someone who finds words like “Reiki” and “shamanism” to be something foreign or abstract, then I invite you to approach this practice as an experiential encounter with deep rest, guided meditation, creative imagination and visualisation.
I am happy to use the vocabulary that makes sense to you, to describe what happens — whatever that might be.

Some people enjoy making Shamanic Reiki a regular practice: a recurring space to rest, let the imagination wander, and encounter new images and perspectives. I think of it a little like dreaming — you don't necessarily need to arrive with a specific question, or expect every journey to reveal something meaningful. Each one can be its own experience, and sometimes it's simply nice to make space for one.
There's no prescribed frequency or sequence of sessions. You can come when it feels useful, whether that's for a single session or as a regular practice.
“I see the mycelium as the Earth's natural Internet, a consciousness with which we might be able to communicate. […] Because these externalized neurological nets sense any impression upon them, from footsteps to falling tree branches, they could relay enormous amounts of data regarding the movements of all organisms through the landscape.”
