Reiki + Sound Massage

Reiki

Grounded in my own deep relaxation and conscious connection to Rei (spirit, mystery) and Ki (life force energy), I use gentle touch and loving presence to support & strengthen your body’s innate healing and rebalancing capacities.

To receive a Reiki treatment, one is typically laying or sitting down in a position that is as comfortable as possible. As the recipient, you do not need to do anything, think about anything, focus on anything, move your body in any way, be aware of the time, or even try to stay awake.

I offer Reiki as one of my main modalities because of a deep belief that regular practice of the art of non-doing and the art of receiving are crucial to physical, spiritual & relational health — and something which the modern world is deeply lacking.

Everyone can benefit from a Reiki treatment, regardless of your beliefs about spirituality or energy. When we give our mind and body the gift of time & space to do nothing, time to simply receive care & attention — clarity, healing & wholeness will naturally begin to emerge.

Sound Massage

A sound massage involves placing Tibetan singing bowls on the body and playing them according to specific sequences. The intention is to facilitate relaxation through active vibrational stimulation — felt in the body, and simultaneously heard through the ears.

I like to begin in-person Reiki treatments with 10-15 minutes of sound massage in order to support transitioning into a deeper state of relaxation for receiving hands-on Reiki. However, this is optional. Other instruments can also be played around the body if desired.

If you are someone who generally struggles to “lay still” and needs more active stimulation to be able to relax, this part of the session can be made longer.

Here is a study you can read about the neurophysiological effects of singing bowl massage.

Session structure

Duration: 90 mins
Price: 800 NOK

Intake + Arrival (15 min)
A check-in about what brings you here and any healings intentions you are carrying. Explaining practicalities of what to expect, and clarifying any boundaries or contraindications.

Then, we do a short practice together to support deepening into your healing intention and marking a transition between “ordinary consciousness” and a meditative one. This practice may include guided meditation, tarot and oracle cards, or ceremonial tea.

Reiki + Sound treatment (60 min)
We usually begin with 10-15 mins of sound massage, but this can be longer or shorter (or skipped altogether) according to your preference. Any hands-on work or use of instruments on your body will be agreed on before the start of treatment.

Post-treatment debrief (15 min)
You are welcome to give feedback and share anything about your experience. I may also share anything that came up in my experience of being connected to your energy — and send you off with recommended resources or practices that may support integration.

FAQs

  • In-person sessions take place in Oslo, in my practice space in Sverres gate.

  • You don’t have to do anything…. to prepare for a dedicated time to do nothing. ☺️

I recommend dressing in comfortable clothing, and anything else that would support your body to relax during the session.

  • Reiki does not have any contraindications.

It is not recommend to play sound healing instruments on or close to the body if you are currently pregnant, recovering from surgeries or injuries, have a pacemaker or metal implants.

  • Everyone is different, and I can’t guarantee how it will be like for you. For those with limited experience with energy work, I typically invoke the metaphor of “meditating together”. Sometimes, meditation is simply deeply relaxing and stress-relieving; other times, it can also involve spontaneous transformative insights and other experiences typically described as “spiritual”. Occasionally, intense and uncomfortable thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations may surface and move through — this is understood as an energetic release response, which is also perfectly normal.

Falling asleep during the session is quite common and very welcome.

There is no right or wrong, better or worse experience — I trust that whatever experience you do have, is the one that’s most needed right now.

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.
